My work is in essence inspired by colours and textures found in nature. The ocean, mountains, rivers, rocks, tree bark, earth and clouds to mention a few of my favourite parts. But I also get inspired by weathered urban textures within the city terrain and Im influenced by the ascetics of ceramics and pottery.
My process is combining reclaimed textiles, fabrics, vintage paper, reclaimed paper and other weathered and time-worn materials to create patchworks/collages. In the next phase I then paint on the layers with acrylic paint, pastel stick or charcoal. I also have paintings where I painted straight on to the canvas or paper.
